Lynne Dalton has been CEO of The Centre for Volunteering for the past 7 years and has had over 25 years’ experience in the community sector. Prior to her current role, Lynne worked on a partnership project with NSW of Family Services and Department of Community Services on capacity building in small to medium non-profit organizations. Previously Lynne was the Director of a Community Centre where she managed 65 staff delivering support services to eastern suburban residents. Lynne also spent three years at the Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care and five years with the National Parks & Wildlife Service in senior project positions. Lynne’s experience in the non-profit area includes child care, family support, volunteering, environment, youth, disability and multi-cultureless. Lynne is a qualified trainer and specializes in management and governance. She holds a degree in Social Science, a Diploma of Business and a Certificate in Marketing.

Elsie Wan is currently a Volunteer Trainer of the Agency for Volunteer Service, Hong Kong, and a Volunteer Mentor for the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Government’s Social Enterprises Partnership Program and the Hong Kong Quality Mentorship Network, as well as a Member of the Public Affairs Forum set up by the Hong Kong Government.
As a corporation executive before retirement, Elsie has long recognized that volunteering activities are the most effective learning and nurturing programs for anyone to build up civil spirit, broaden knowledge and contribute to a better community. She strongly believes that Volunteerism could be a living philosophy and would not miss any opportunity to advocate its spirit and blend it into our ways of living.
Elsie is also actively involved in coordination/organization of volunteering events and enhancement/development programs. She is a winner of the 2010 Hong Kong Community Volunteers Outstanding Volunteer Award.

Sahara Scaddan completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, with a double major in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. Since graduating, Sahara has managed and trained staff in the government and education sectors. A job change as a Volunteer Manager at a non-profit hospital piqued an interest in health, and has motivated Sahara to enroll into a Master of Public Health which she is currently completing. Sahara’s main interests are social determinants of health, and social inclusion and the effectthis has on the health of communities and individuals. She recently completed a paper on the benefits of social support and strong community ties for new mothers. She has also recently been awarded a research scholarship from Volunteering Australia to speak at a research roundtable at the 15th National Conference on Volunteering in Adelaide.

Dr. Toby Chan is a railwaytelecommunicationsengineerfor nearly twenty three years. From2004onwards, heactively participated in various voluntary works. He acted as a volunteerleader in MTR since 2007 and workedwith a number ofnon-profit government organizations such as Chinese YMCA, Suicide Prevention Service, Playright, Chinese University Hong Kong (Deaf Studies)to raise differentvolunteeractivities to serve, teenagers and children. In 2012, he recruited volunteers in the corporation to learn sign language and established a volunteer team, namely ”M-Voice” to help the hearing impaired people to be integrated into the community. Dr. AU LIU, Suk Ching Elaine
Elaine wears many hats at City University of Hong Kong – apart from being the Project Convener who founded this project and continues to provide direction and leadership; she is also the Assistant Head / Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Social Studies, as well as the Hall Master of the Student Residence Hall 1. She obtained her PhD degree from the University of Hong Kong. Before her teaching career at CityU, Elaine has years of experience being a school social worker, who also took up the role of a youth counselor and then became a social work team supervisor. Elaine finds the opportunity to work with, meet, and even live with (through being a Residence Master) young people equally important and rewarding as teaching them. She cares deeply about the welfare of children in our world today especially with the fast-growing economy and technological advancement, which distract people’s attention from caring for our children and fundamental values.
Ms. CHING, Constance
Constance started her social work career working with New York City\'s homeless population who live with mental-illness and HIV/AIDS. She obtained her MSW at Hunter College, City University of New York. In the past 3 years, she has been the project supervisor of City-Youth Empowerment Project, a non-credit bearing service-learning project open to all City University of Hong Kong students. Currently also undertaking her PhD studies, she believes service-learning via the community volunteerism platform can be a very powerful pedagogic process, given that critical thinking of structural barriers and activism are part of the key elements.

In 1971, Kiyoshi Ishida started to set up the classroom for disable children since they were not accepted by public school at that time and no place to learn or grow socially. He has managed classroom and worked together with other parents. In 1984, Kiyoshi established the day care facility called “Hanano-ie” to enable the children with disabilities participate and take a role in the society as ‘doer’ not as ‘recipient’ only. From the beginning, Kiyoshi managed the “Hanano-ie” at director position as one volunteer and gradually developed the facility to accept disable adults. In 2010, merging other organizations, he was appointed to be the executive director of newly born “Bois Sumire Welfare Corporation”.
Kiyoshi was awarded for a longstanding volunteer service and contribution from Machida City Mayor in 1990, Tokyo Metropolitan Governor in 1993 and 2008, and Chairperson of the National Coucil of Social Welfare in 2010. Kiyoshi is a board member of IAVE Japan.

Lee, Chang-ho is currently working for the Korean Academy of Volunteerism as President, and for the Korean Forum of Volunteerism as Vice President. He is also working as a senior advisor for the Joongang-Ilbo(Daily News) Institute for Civil Society, and Senior Vice President of COPION (COperation and Participation In Overseas NGOs) which is one of the largest foreign aid organizations in Korea. For the past 20 years, Lee has devoted himself to the improvement of volunteerism of Korea, getting involved in and creating various volunteer organizations. The Korean Make A Difference Day event that was begun in 1994 is one of his inventions. Lee has also participated in various legislative works related to volunteerism such as the legislation of Basic Volunteering Act as well as working as advisor for governmental departments and/or Presidential Committee on Civil Society.

Born in Tokyo in 1982, Hiroki has been involved in environmental activities and in empowerment of young activists for more than 10 years. He majored in environmental engineering and policy and earned a bachelor’s degree from Waseda University in 2004. Earned master’s degree at Florida State University in public administration in 2006. After working for an environmental consulting farm for two years, Hiroki became the first full time, paid staff and Secretariat General at Japan Youth Ecology League, Japan’s largest youth environmental network NGO. Because of his career in youth activity, Hiroki was chosen as an Advisor to Japanese Government for Rio+20 (UN Conference on Sustainable Development) in 2012 to reflect opinions of young activists on the negation text. He established a youth NPO called “United Youth” to make a platform to summarize young activist’s voices and opinions in 2011.

Mary-Ann Khoo is the manager of SG Cares, National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, a national body established to promote volunteerism and philanthropy in Singapore. Prior to getting involved in the non-profit sector, Mary-Ann has done mission work in East Timor, teaching as a volunteer English teacher, undertaking secretariat work and overseeing poverty-alleviation projects. Huiquan Zhou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Zhou received her PhD in social welfare from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011. Ma. Dolores T. Santiago is the National Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, the largest organization for girls and young women in the Philippines, which is likewise an institutional member of the International Association for Volunteer Effort, Philippines. Currently, she is Vice President of IAVE, Philippines.
For both significant positions, Mrs. Santiago has travelled extensively in the Asia Pacific, Europe, and the USA to participate in conferences, forums, and training courses. As an IAVE delegate, she has attended the IAVE Asia Pacific Conference in Hong Kong, the IAVE World Conference in Singapore, and the one recently held in London.
Being GSP’s NED, she is primarily responsible in the effective implementation of the Girl Scout Program across the six Regions and 96 Councils of the GSP all over the Philippines.
Mrs. Santiago is a Certified Public Accountant and had attended post graduate courses in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance.

Ms. Debbie Huang currently serves as Secretary General to IAVE Taiwan which is the chapter and national representative office to IAVE in Taiwan.
Her professional background in Meeting Management and Cross-cultural Communication administrates the main volunteering taskforces for IAVE Taiwan to contribute in domestic as well as overseas. Creating unique volunteering opportunities and bridging youth volunteers to different international platform are the mandates that drive Debbie engage into IAVE Taiwan for the past 12 years. (Phra) Win Mektripop is the committee of Volunteer Spirit Network. He was First Founding Coordinator of this network since Tsunami 2004 to 2008 and currently active working Committee.
Volunteer Spirit Network (VSN) is Thailand volunteer network that promote, mobilize and support volunteer spirit for Thais people and volunteers worldwide. VSN is a network of volunteer and voluntary organization initiate to coordinate Volunteer and Giving in Thailand tsunami disaster and aim to empower volunteer spirit of volunteerism after Tsunami, Volunteer Spirit for Life time.
He received a Bachelor of Economics (International Program), Thammasat University, Bangkok Thailand and Master degree – M.Sc. in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics (International Program), Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok Thailand. Currently, He is PhD candidate for Buddhist Studies in International Program at Mahachulalongkorn University.
He currently becomes Thai monk with concern on socially engage Buddhism and become secretariat of Sekhiyadhamma group, Thailand's progressive monks, nun and Sangha engaged in social reform and environmental conservation movements. He also works with international network of engaged Buddhist (INEB).

Ir Dr. F.C. Chan is an Engineer and has extensive experiences in power systems specialising in power system protection, distribution automation, lighting applications and energy services. He is a Past President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineer. Mrs Tajinder Kaur is the Pro-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, which imparts professional education in the faculties of Dental Sciences, Computer Science, Social Science, Applied Science, Para-Medical Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Education, Medicine (Ayurveda, Allopathy & Homoeopathy), Nursing, Information Technology, Management, Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Hospitality & Hotel Administration, Art & Craft, Airlines, Tourism & Hospitality, Fashion Technology, Media & Film Technology, Multi-Media and Animation.
As Chief Executive Officer of NGO “Hara Punjab Khara Samaj”, a subsidiary of Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes, Mrs Tajinder Kaur has made tremendous contribution in spreading awareness about environmental protection and eradication of social evils among the people of Chandigarh and Punjab with a special focus on schoolchildren and rural people of Punjab.
The motto of her campaign ‘IK GHAR, IK RUKH’ (One Tree for Each Family) is to create awareness about preservation and protection of the environment. Other issues taken up by the Organization include discouraging the use of polythene bags and other non-biodegradable plastic goods. Mrs Tajinder Kaur personally issued directions to all the Heads of Institutions of Desh Bhagat Group to ensure complete ban on the use of polythene bags in their institutions so that pollution may be prevented.
Among the innovative initiatives undertaken by the NGO are celebration of festivals with the motive of spreading the green mantra. Hara Punjab Khara Samaj celebrated “Green Christmas”, “Green New Year” and “Green Diwali”. So far, the NGO has distributed 55,000 saplings of medicinal trees in various districts of Punjab and Chandigarh and it is fast progressing on the path to distribute at least 1,00,000 saplings.
Mrs Tajinder Kaur has also lobbied with the managements of various 4/5 star hotels across India to prevent the wastage of water in their respective establishments and advised them to plant trees that are suitable for their establishments through articles she wrote and got published in the Quarterly Newsletter of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India. Other activities of “Hara Punjab Khara Samaj” include organizing seminars and workshops on various relevant subjects like “Global Warming”, “Climate Change”, “Women Empowerment”. As CEO of this NGO, she also distributes sweaters in winter each year.
The NGO has also launched a crusade against social evils like female foeticide, intoxicants, drug abuse, dowry, domestic violence against women, child marriage and child labour. As Vice Chairperson of “Desh Bhagat Community Radio – Aap Ki Awaz”, she has involved the community members, especially women (through “Shakti-the Power of A Woman” Programme) in the broadcast of socially useful Radio Programmes. She is also Rotarian in Chandigarh and has been taking part in various social activities as part of her responsibilities of a Rotarian.
